With Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights opening last week, Hollywood’s event is set to kick off on Thursday.

While the event will feature their own versions of four houses also found in Orlando, The Weeknd: After Hours Nightmare, Halloween, the Horrors of Blumhouse featuring Freaky and the Black Phone, and Universal Monsters: Legends Collide, the rest of the houses will be unique to Hollywood. Here’s how the previously unannounced 2022 event will shake out with the descriptions as written by Universal, again, with the excessive use of “scream squad” removed.

Houses

Killer Klowns from Outer Space – There’s nothing funny about these Killer Klowns who’re back to make gooey, out of this world snacks out of you and your friends. If ever there’s a reason people are afraid of clowns, this is it.

La Llorona: The Weeping Woman – You and your friends remember the tale of the woman who drowned her children and then herself. Once a childhood fable, she’s back to terrify once again. This is no nightmare. This is La Llorona.

Scarecrow: The Reaping – At an abandoned Depression-era farm, vengeance takes root. The scarecrows are avenging the ravaged land. In this all-new haunted house, the only harvest that will be reaped is your crew.

Universal Horror Hotel – A 1920s Hollywood hotel, once the hunting ground of its infamous serial killer owner, has been turned into a modern-day haunted hotel. Now he’s back from the dead. Your first stay will be your last.

Scare Zones

El Pueblo del Terror – From La Llorona to El Chupacabras, the most terrifying myths of all time converge in one tiny village where la muerte (death) is your only escape.

Sideshow Slaughterhouse – Step right up and enter a seedy sideshow where murderous geeks, freaks and roustabouts make your horrified screams a part of the show.

Clownsawz – Some people think clowns are the scariest. Well, we’ve decided to give chainsaws to an entire troupe of demented clowns. You’re welcome.

This year’s Terror Tram will feature the return of the character Hollywood Harry and “HHN-izes all the traditional icons of Halloween (black cats, jack-o-lanterns, sheet ghosts, skeletons, etc.)” according to creative director John Murdy. The tram will end with a walk through the recently added sets of Jordan Peele’s Nope which will be invaded by the Tethered from the film Us.

In addition to the scare zones, Murdy says there will be “5 of what I would call ‘scareactor interactions.’ These are places where you will encounter characters…sometimes just one…sometimes multiples. These are sprinkled through out the top deck of the park.”

A big addition to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter this year will be roaming Death Eaters, Voldemort’s most loyal followers, throughout the land. This is the first time this has been done on either coast.

Dance group the Jabbawockeez are back for their seventh consecutive appearance at HHN.

Halloween Horror Nights kicks off on September 8 and runs on select nights through October 31. Tickets are on sale now.
