Universal Orlando has confirmed the long-rumored Minion Land is coming to Universal Studios this summer.

The attraction Despicable Me Minion Mayhem, which celebrated its tenth year in 2022, will be joined by the new “fully interactive gaming experience,” Villain-Con Minion Blast. This will be where the old Shrek 4-D attraction was. More details will be announced soon, but the ride will exit into a new store called Evil Stuff which will stock Villain-Con and Minions merchandise.

The land will also feature four new dining locations, Minion Cafe, Bake My Day, Pop-a-Nana, and Freeze Ray Pops. The primary location, Minion Cafe, will take the place of the closed Monsters Cafe and will feature items like the Steak & “Cheese Ray” Sandwich, Agnes’s Honeymoon Soup, Carl’s Crispy Cauliflower, Otto’s Noodle Bowl, the Mini Boss’ Mega Melt from the kids menu, and the dessert Bob’s Teddy Bear Chocolate Cream Puff.

Additionally, Bake My Day will be a new dessert spot serving up sweet treats such as cupcakes, macarons, s’mores and more, as well as Minions merchandise. Then there is Pop-a-Nana, serving sweet and savory popcorn, including banana flavor. And then there’s Freeze Ray Pops featuring “colorful popsicles inspired by Gru, the Minions and Vector.” It will also serve beverages.

And lastly, the Illuminations Theater will host character meets featuring the Minions, Gru, Margo, Edith and Agnes, from the Minions/Despicable Me franchise, but also characters Rosita, Gunter, and Johnny from the Sing franchise, also produced by Illuminations.

Universal has promised additional murals, photo ops, and other fun stuff throughout the land. It’ll be exciting to see this new land come to life very soon. To hit the “summer” target, it’ll need to be open by mid-September.
