The first phase of Disneyland’s highly anticipated land dedicated to Marvel is coming to Disney’s California Adventure in 2020.

The premise of the land is that the Avengers are seeking new recruits to take on future threats, and this is the place where you can learn if you have what it takes to join the team.

The attraction opening in phase one is a Spider-Man attraction based around the Worldwide Engineering Brigade, or WEB for short. We’ll learn about some of the new tech that Peter Parker and other inventors are creating at the group’s open house, primarily the “Web Slinger” vehicle. Of course things will go wrong with another invention, Spider-Bots, and we’ll be tasked with helping collect them. It sounds like an interactive attraction, similar to Toy Story Mania or the new Ant-Man and the Wasp attraction at the Hong Kong campus.

In addition to the Spider-Man attraction, there will be the Pym Test Kitchen, a dining location themed to Pym Technologies and their ability to shrink and enlarge anything, including food. I can only imagine they’ll serve up oversized and/or tiny foods here, otherwise why would it bear Hank Pym’s name. If you squint at the concept art for the restaurant, you can see the burger Disneyland served as part of the park’s Get Your Ears On celebration, which featured a “giant” burger with two sliders perched on top as Mickey ears.

The Avengers Campus will feature a Doctor Strange area themed to an old California sanctum of the mystic arts. There will be a lot character interactions in addition to Doctor Strange, including Black Widow, Ant-Man, the Wasp, Star-Lord, Gamora, Groot, Black Panther, the Dora Milaje, Thor, and Iron Man.

And last but certainly not least is what might have been the D23 Expo announcement I’m personally most excited about. Phase two of the Avengers Campus will include an E-Ticket attraction where we’ll get to board a Quinjet, take a trip to Wakanda, and end up in the middle of a battle with a major villain. There’s no date on this attraction yet, but it sounds like it’ll be epic when it does open.

In addition to all of the new things coming to this new land, Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout! get absorbed, with a somewhat modified backstory about why the Collector brought his collection to Avengers Campus.

I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait to visit Avengers Campus next year.
