The big new Four Diamond hotel announced almost exactly a year ago is officially no longer happening. Progress came to a standstill earlier this year when the City of Anaheim decided that due to the hotel’s location moving a bit south on the west side of Disneyland Resort, they would no longer be eligible for the tax incentives for building a four-star hotel. Therefore Disney has decided to no longer build it.
So now that the hotel is not happening, what will become of the west end of Downtown Disney where many businesses had already been kicked out? Earl of Sandwich has reopened and food trucks have taken up residence in the west end, but as for anything else, we’ll have to wait and see.
Could RunDisney races, which were indefinitely put on hold last year, come back? What would you like to see happen now that the fourth hotel is a no-go?
