The Music of Pixar Live! is a shining star in Hollywood Studios

The Toy Story segment of the Music of Pixar Live! tugs at the heartstrings.

While Toy Story Land and Star Wars Land are still under construction and a ways off from opening, Disney’s Hollywood Studios has beefed up its entertainment offerings this summer with The Music of Pixar Live!.

The new 40-minute show features a live orchestra performing medleys from beloved Pixar franchises Toy Story, Cars, Up, The Incredibles, and Monsters, Inc. Some of the best entertainment in Disney parks features live musicians, singers, and dancers, and this a great addition to that tradition, especially for music nerds.

Throughout the show there will be some slightly hammy, filmed introductions and insights from John Lasseter, Michael Giacchino, Pete Doctor, and others, and some of your favorite Pixar characters even make appearances, but the incredible music and orchestra are the stars of the show.

Just try to listen to the beautiful sounds of Giacchino’s “Married Life” from Up as sweet and somber clips from the film play on a screen behind the orchestra without tearing up. I dare you.

The Music of Pixar Live! is currently scheduled for three shows a day through Sunday, August 27, at Theater of the Stars on Sunset Boulevards that is also the home of Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage. Check the or the My Disney Experience app for showtimes.

If you can’t make it to Disney World before the show’s limited run ends, watch the Disney Parks Blog’s live stream of the show below.
